CHARACTER
Character Name: Germany
Character Age: ~150 years old, looks 20
Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia
Canon Point: modern day
History: Germany (Hetalia wiki); Germany (Wikipedia)
Personality:
The personification of the country of Germany is a rather stern and stoic-looking young man. This isn't to say he's emotionless; rather, he has difficulty expressing his emotions. While he'll ask for advice, and turn to self-help books to understand other people, so far he continues to fall short when it comes to understanding his own feelings.
Germany's equally at home both giving and receiving orders. While he's not the same kind of strategist his big brother Prussia is, he's learned from him and is able to analyze situations logically.
As a (relatively) young nation, Germany's eager and willing to learn. He accepts that there's much he doesn't know yet, and tries to look up the answers to things he doesn't know. He isn't afraid to ask for assistance from others who might know more than he does. He's not always the best at critical thinking, though he always tries to choose the best course of action with the information he has available. He can also be loyal to a fault. If someone he trusts (or is obligated to follow) tells him to do something, he doesn't always question it as much as he should. A stickler for rules and regulations, he can sometimes follow them too closely.
He's a perfectionist, dedicating himself to giving his all to every task, no matter how small. With a fine eye for intricate detail and a near-obsession with cleanliness, Germany can sometimes miss the bigger picture for the details, or make a nuisance of himself trying to keep an area clean. He also enjoys mechanical engineering and likes tinkering with machines and blueprints, improving their efficiency and design.
Germany is far too serious about everything from housework to world meetings. This intensity can be intimidating to anyone, and he doesn't seem to be able to turn it down or off. As a modern nation with a fairly large military and an incredibly strong economy, Germany's physically far stronger than the average person. He exercises rigorously on top of this, and his strong economy means it's difficult for him to get sick. He can be incredibly loud, and more often than not, sounds like he's barking orders to a regiment of soldiers, instead of trying to lead a democratic meeting or a group of friends.
Perhaps surprisingly, given his general frightening appearance, Germany is incredibly gentle. He's an excellent cook and baker, though he prefers the precision needed for baking delicate cakes and sweets to the less-scientific methods of cooking. His foods might focus too heavily on starches, and he might get caught up in the precision of laying apples in just the right pattern on a cake, but he's rather good at it. He's also able to experiment with different kinds of foods when supplies are short, such as finding a way to brew coffee from dandelion roots. He also cares deeply for dogs, training them well and spending at least two hours a day with his own dogs.
Inventory:
One pair reading glasses
Berlitz: A yellow Hovawart. No special powers, he's literally just a dog. He's a good boy.
Abilities:
Physical Strength
Good at both leadership and teamwork
Skilled baker
Skilled mechanic
Linguistics: As a modern nation, Germany can speak the languages of his neighbors quite fluently, and can make himself understood in and understand most other modern (Earth) languages.
Flaws:
Intensity
Loyalty
Farsightedness (prefers reading glasses for close or detailed work)
Inability to express emotions
Fastidious
History: Perhaps the most important flaw relevant to the door bringing him through. Even for a young country, Germany has been part of terrible acts in the past. These are things he can only try to rectify through current action and remembering the things that he and his people were involved in.
